UN Authorizes Protesters To Silence Americans At COP 24

*Like clockwork, when U.S. Special Advisor the to President, P. Wells Griffith of the Energy Department was speaking, the protesters began to laugh and chant about how the Trump administration was “funny” because they did not want to keep coal, oil and gas “in the ground.”*

By Craig Rucker ~

Does the United Nations serve any purpose at all if it will not guarantee the right of participants to speak undisturbed when taking part in its process?

The United Nations gave explicit permission to left-wing youth groups to disrupt a presentation by the American delegation on energy issues at COP 24, the UN conference on climate change in Katowice, Poland.CFACT’s Marc Morano reports, “officials from the U.S. delegation told Climate Depot on Monday that the UN informed the U.S.  that the environmental activists would be authorized by the UN  to disrupt the U.S. event for at least “7 minutes” and the green protesters would be granted the floor, halt the event, and give speeches during the U.S. event.”

Thank you to everyone whose generous support made CFACT’s work at this year’s UN climate conference possible!  Will you make a gift right now and help…

COP 24: Climate Lunacy Takes Center Stage In Poland

*More and more people understand that fossil fuels provide 80% of US and global energy – and are essential to lifting billions more people out of crushing poverty. They see Asian and African countries building thousands of new coal- and gas-fired electrical generating plants, and making and driving millions of new cars. They know even Germany and Japan are burning more coal, as they realize that wind and solar subsidies and facilities raise energy costs, kill jobs and hurt poor families the most.*

PA Pundits - International

By Paul Driessen ~

The unwritten rule seems to be that each successive climate report and news release must be more scarifying than any predecessors, especially during the run-up to international conferences.

Thus Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Special Report 15 claims governments worldwide must make “unprecedented changes in all aspects of society,” spend $40 trillion by 2035 on renewable energy, and impose carbon taxes that climb to $5,500 per ton of carbon dioxide (CO2) by 2030. Or temperatures could climb another 1 degree F (0.5 C) and bring utter cataclysm to human civilization and our planet.

Not to be outdone, the 1,700-page 2018 US National Climate Assessment wailed that failure to eliminate fossil fuels and roll back American industry and living standards would send global temperatures soaring 15 degrees F by 2100! Chaos and food shortages would ensue; US economic growth would plummet.

The hyperbole continues in Katowice, Poland…

More Evidence Water Vapor Is Dominant Influence on Temperatures

*If we are right, anyone want to bet the cold and snow will be blamed on “climate change”? You can see no such link to CO2, nor can you attribute CO2 to any of this. It’s right there with the water vapor. What is the source of extra water vapor? Let me guess — could it be the oceans?*

PA Pundits - International

By  Joe Bastardi   ~

This may seem revolutionary given all the emphasis put on CO2 as the so-called “climate control knob.” But we have a classic case of direct linkage to water vapor occurring, with high-latitude warming and the cold seasons revealing this most vividly. More water vapor means more clouds. In fact, the cooler it is, the easier it is to create clouds, as condensation processes are faster. So increased water vapor is likely to have its biggest effect on temperatures at the coldest time of the year.

CO2 cannot be causing what you’ll see below.

For instance, maximum temperatures for the nation during the front five days of the month were 2.34°F below average.

Minimum temperatures were 2.77°Fabove average.

For the front five days of December, this is a record spread! Now look at the water vapor so far:

The nation is…

The Green Agenda Burns To Ashes In Paris

The “climate” agenda, peddled as a means to save the planet and reduce inequality, is being exposed in France as an agenda inherently at odds with the interests of middle- and working-class people.

PA Pundits - International

By Jarrett Stepman ~

A riot is an ugly thing.

The anarchical mayhem in the streets of Paris in recent days paint a picture of a fractured society with deep-seated problems—a breakdown of the fragile yet essential rule of law.

While we’ve come to expect such things in France, there are specific reasons why these protests have erupted in the last month.

The “climate” agenda, peddled as a means to save the planet and reduce inequality, is being exposed in France as an agenda inherently at odds with the interests of middle- and working-class people.

Last year, a wide range of American and international media, celebrities, and activists excoriated President Donald Trump for pulling the United States out of the international Paris climate agreement. Trump said in 2017 that he would put “no other consideration before the well-being of American citizens” and that he would reject an agreement that…

4 Problems With The New Climate Change Report

But if your aunt calls you up this week spouting claims of mass deaths, global food shortages, economic destruction, and national security risks resulting from climate change, here’s what you need to know about this report.

PA Pundits - International

By Nicolas Loris ~

If you’re like me, you’re happy the White House released the latest version of the National Climate Assessment on Black Friday. Publishing the 1,700-page report the day after Thanksgiving saved me from unwanted dinner conversations about our planet’s impending climate doom.

The National Climate Assessment claimed that the worst climate scenario could cost the U.S. 10 percent of its gross domestic product by 2100. (Photo: kapukdodds/Getty Images)

But if your aunt calls you up this week spouting claims of mass deaths, global food shortages, economic destruction, and national security risks resulting from climate change, here’s what you need to know about this report.

1. It wildly exaggerates economic costs.

One statistic that media outlets have seized upon is that the worst climate scenario could cost the U.S. 10 percent of its gross domestic product by 2100.  The 10 percent loss projection is more than twice the…

Batteries Not Included In Renewable Energy Fantasy Plans

*The problem is batteries, which we never hear about when these grand plans are announced. Batteries are not included, even though they will be needed in impossible quantities. Here are the simple facts which dare not be mentioned.*

PA Pundits - International

By David Wojick, Ph.D. ~

The political fantasy of 100% renewable electricity is sweeping the nation. Governors and mayors, towns and cities, and whole States are vying for who can get there first. California’s 2045 target date was recently topped by Colorado’s incoming Governor’s announced target of 2040, just 21 short years from now.

This 100% goal sounds so good politically that it is irresistible. Clean energy for everyone. Unfortunately, converting America to 100% renewable energy is completely unrealistic as engineering, which means we are headed for big trouble. Committing to the impossible is a truly bad plan.

The problem is batteries, which we never hear about when these grand plans are announced. Batteries are not included, even though they will be needed in impossible quantities. Here are the simple facts which dare not be mentioned.

While there are “utility scale” battery systems, their national total is virtually zero compared…

Climate Change – Countdown To Katowice

*This time might be a tad different because hundreds of billions of dollars are almost on the table. The developing countries, which are the vast majority of UN members, think they have been promised at least $100 billion a year from the developed countries (especially the US), beginning in 2020.*

PA Pundits - International

By David Wojick, Ph.D. ~

Katowice, Poland is about to get its 15 minutes of fame, thanks to the infamous Paris Agreement on climate change scaremongering. Beginning December 2 and running through the 14th, tens of thousands of climate change alarmists will descend on this active coal mining town.

Many will be national delegates from around the world, whose goal is to “finalize the rule book” for the Paris Agreement. The US delegation is included, because America has yet to actually withdraw.

It is almost certain that this meeting will produce something and very likely it will not be much. These are, after all, professional diplomats. They can always agree on something if it is sufficiently vague.

You may need to add Katowice to your spell checker, as I did. Oh and it is pronounced “cat oh veech ah” not “cat oh weese”. Emma says it here.

Media Hyped Warming Study, Some Still Haven’t Admitted Its Flaws

*However, not all the media outlets which originally promoted the study’s claims have issued reports about the error. CBS, ABC and USA Today were among those that had yet to issue corrections the morning of Nov. 15.*

PA Pundits - International

By Julia A Seymour ~

Just a couple weeks ago the media were warning about “startling new research” by Princeton and Scripps scientists that indicated faster global warming, but it turns out that panic was overblown. The researchers issued corrections to the paper after a climate skeptic pointed out a math error in the study.

However, not all the media outlets which originally promoted the study’s claims have issued reports about the error. CBS, ABC and USA Today were among those that had yet to issue corrections the morning of Nov. 15.

CBSNews.com wrote about the “staggering rate” of ocean warming on Nov. 9, in a story still listed in “climate change” section of the website under latest stories. Noticeably absent from the list was a more recent article, pointing out the problem with that study.

On Nov. 9, meteorologist and CBS contributor Jeff Berardelli wrote of multiple studies…

Anti Fracking Climate Madness In Colorado

Colorado has a history of this sort of climate madness. They were the first state to mandate the use of renewable energy via a “renewable portfolio standard.” More recently they became the first state to opt for replacing working coal fired power plants with wind farms.

PA Pundits - International

By David Wojick, Ph.D. ~

Al Gore’s endorsement of the anti-fracking ballot initiative in Colorado makes it clear that this is a “leave it in the ground” measure. It is not really about health and safety, homes and hospitals, despite being pitched that way. This is climate activism at work.

Proposition 112 is aimed at killing oil and gas production where no one lives. The Colorado Oil and Gas Commission has even produced a detailed map that makes this farce clear, but the Colorado press has simply ignored this glaringly inconvenient fact. I explain this here and here.

One only has to dig a bit to find that major climate activist groups are actively supporting Prop 112. These include the Sierra Club, NRDC, Gore’s own Climate Reality Project, the Center for Earth Ethics, Greenpeace, Rainforest Action Network, and 350.org.

Colorado has a history of this sort of climate madness. They…

Free Beacon Mocks NPR Hour On Talking To ‘Dangerous Idiots’ On Climate

*Love this NPR talking to “dangerous idiots” on climate change.*

PA Pundits - International

By Tim Graham ~

Our friend David Rutz at the Washington Free Beacon listened to a typically one-sided hour of National Public Radio on climate change on Tuesday and wrote an article titled “NPR: How Do We Talk to the Dangerous Idiots Who Disagree With Us?”

The national talk show 1A tweeted out this summation: “Climate change is a fundamental threat. The science is clear and scientists around the world agree that this a man-made problem. What, if anything, can be done to win over climate skeptics?”

Rutz summarized it this way: “I listened to a remarkable bit of self-parody on National Public Radio on Tuesday: a moderator, a pair of experts, and some very earnest listeners trying to figure out how to most politely tell climate change skeptics they are dangerous idiots.”

1A host Joshua Johnson led off the program with this summary:

Clearly climate change is tough…
